In addition to the use of nebulized therapy for in-hospital management of COPD exacerbation, nebulizers are also ideally suited for community use in COPD maintenance therapy, particularly in patients with decline in cognitive function, coordination, dexterity, and muscle strength. In this video, Dr. Jill Ohar and Dr. Bassam Mahboub discuss the selection and use of nebulizers beyond rescue therapy in the management of COPD, and the relevance of peak inspiratory flow for appropriate device selection.
