Course Description

The global prevalence of COPD is somewhere between 4 and 12%, and the prevalence and burden in the Middle East varies among countries and populations. Globally, there appears to be a shift in the prevalence of COPD towards younger individuals, women, and those exposed to respiratory risk factors beyond cigarette smoking. In this video, Dr. Jill Ohar and Dr. Bassam Mahboub describe the burden of COPD both in the Middle East and globally, and discuss practice considerations for the management of COPD in the context of the updated 2022 GOLD guideline recommendations.
