All Sponsored Programs will be identified to you via the program Disclosure Information, or some similar designation indicating that the content has been selected by a third-party sponsor. When you choose to engage in a Sponsored Program, you may be asked to provide Personal Information which may be provided directly to the third-party sponsor and also used by us as described in this Privacy Policy. We also collect non-personal information about your use of sponsored programs through cookies, as described below.

From time to time, we may invite you to participate in market research surveys conducted on behalf of third party sponsors. In this context, “sponsor” refers to the product/service provider commissioning the survey. For some surveys, you may be asked to provide contact information for honoraria fulfillment.

Cookies

Apart from the personal information collected when visitors sign up, we also collect anonymous non-personal information through the use of “cookie technology”. Cookies are small text files a website creates when you visit a site. There are two common types of cookies, “session cookies” and “persistent cookies”. Session cookies store information only for the length of time that you are connected to a website. Unlike “persistent cookies”, they are not saved onto your hard drive. The use of cookies is an industry standard and many major websites use them to provide useful features to their visitors. Cookies do not personally identify users, although they do identify a user’s computer.

Use of Google Analytics

Currently, we use Google Analytics to analyze our online traffic and improve our content. No personal information is shared with or collected from Google Analytics. For further information on the privacy policy concerning Google Analytics, please visit support.google.com.

Other information collected

Each time you use the internet, an Internet Protocol (“IP”) address is assigned to your computer or internet-capable device via the internet service provider. This number may either be the same or different each time you access the internet. Each time your computer or internet-capable device requests information from one of our websites, we log your IP address on our server. We may also log operating systems and browser types for the purposes of system administration and to report aggregate information. We may use this in order to gather information about the website traffic and usage. To clarify, whether you are a registered user or not, our web server collects certain information including (a) IP address; (b) host names (c) domain name (d) time and date information as requested (e) browser version and platform when it is requested, (f) a record of which pages have been requested (g) location data from your IP address. Location data may be necessary for us to “geo-block”, or regionalize, our website content or services. If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence and use it to contact you and/or to update our records. We may use all information we obtain to enforce our legal rights and protect against unauthorised access, use, activity and/or copying, either personally or via third party contractors and advisers.

Other uses of personal information

Other than for fulfilling our obligations to you (where these exist), on some occasions we use the information you provide to produce aggregate statistics in relation to pages being accessed. The statistical and aggregate reports generated about web usage on MDBriefCase Group Inc. websites may be shared with third parties such as content suppliers and sponsors who might assist us in managing, financing and improving the websites. For example, we might inform third parties regarding the number of users of our site and the activities they conduct while there. We require third parties to whom we disclose aggregate information to agree that they will not attempt to make this information personally identifiable by combining it with other databases or through any other means.

How long we keep the information we collect

We keep (including via our contractors) your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil our obligations to you and to protect our legal interests or as otherwise stated to you when such data is collected.

Cookies and web usage reports

We use session cookies to learn how all our visitors navigate the various parts of the website. This website tracking data is used in the aggregate to help us provide the most efficient service and navigational tools for our visitors.

For registered visitors, we also link the website tracking data generated from the session cookies to some of the personal information you provided. Through this linkage, we can create aggregate demographic profiles of web usage. These statistical and aggregate reports do not contain any personally identifiable information.

We also create a record of individual web usage from e-commerce portions of MDBriefCase Group Inc. websites when you make a purchase. We use this purchase history information for billing, shipping, fraud protection and marketing purposes.

We use aggregate reports to learn how many visitors with certain characteristics (e.g. chain, geographic region) visit a particular portion of the website. This aggregate information will help us to determine areas of the website of particular interest to certain segments within the healthcare community. The aggregate reports could also serve as the catalyst for the creation of new website features and the development of future benefits and services. With your permission, you will receive email notices about these new features and services. As stated above, you can indicate at the initial registration stage, or at any other time, whether you wish to receive email updates about the website features.

Cookies and Login Preferences

Cookies can also make your use of the web easier by saving language and login preferences. We use persistent cookies to store your language preference and login information so that you will be “remembered” by our server. You will not have to go through the “splash page” and enter your login ID each time you visit the site. You can indicate at initial registration whether you wish to have your computer “remembered” by checking the “Remember Me” box at sign-up. You will have to re-enter your login information each time if you do not choose this option.

With most internet browsers, you can erase cookies from your hard drive, block all cookies or receive a warning before a cookie is used. Please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these functions.

  2. required to enforce our legal rights (including property, safety, our customers or others);

Security

MDBriefCase Group Inc. websites have physical and technical measures in place to ensure the security of information. Like many of today’s most trusted companies, our data is being stored securely on the “cloud” via Amazon Web Services (AWS). Additional backup locations are in place, with traditional rackmount servers in use as required. Physical servers reside in passcode-secured rooms accessible to a limited group of authorized personnel. All entrants are tracked and escorted by facility staff. No unescorted entry is permitted to the facility. In addition, we employ advanced encryption and firewall technology. Please note, although we will make every reasonable effort to protect your personal information from loss, misuse or alteration by third parties, you should be aware that there is always some risk involved in transmitting information online.

The data that we collect from you (or which you supply to us by email or otherwise) may be transferred to and stored at a destination outside of the European Economic Area (“EEA”).
