Implementing a hospital-based SCIg program: a guide for nurses – Certificate of Completion

Description

A Guide for Nurses Antibody deficiencies are defined by either a loss of immunoglobulins or immunoglobulin function failure, resulting in increased susceptibility to infection. Antibody deficiencies are associated with infections, immune dysfunction, end organ damage, and significant morbidity and mortality. Immunoglobulin replacement therapy (IRT) is the standard of care for patients with antibody deficiency due to a primary or secondary immune deficiency. Immunoglobulin infusion nurses work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and play a vital role in the care and education of patients requiring IRT therapy.
