Course Description

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the leading cause of acute lower respiratory tract infections (LRTI) in children globally, with cases of severe RSV disease occurring in infants less than 6 months of age. RSV is also the leading cause of infant hospitalizations in Canada. Due to the limited therapeutic options available to manage RSV illness, the focus has been on disease prevention.
