Course Description

The use of progesterone for luteal phase support (LPS) in assisted reproductive technologies (ART) has become the standard of practice. RANZCOG recommends the use of LPS with progesterone inin-vitro fertilisation (IVF) as it is associated with improved live birth rates.

This course covers best-practice management of patients undergoing all forms of ART, and reviews the different vaginal progesterone treatment options currently available in Australia.

After completing this program, fertility nurses will be better able to understand the mechanism of action of progesterone and the essential role of LPS in optimising outcomes for patients undergoing ART.

This program is supported by an unrestricted educational grant provided from Besins.
