Course Description

  1. Describe the role of anticoagulation for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF), and for the treatment of venous thromboembolism (VTE)
  2. Evaluate stroke risk and bleeding risk in patients with AF who require anticoagulation therapy
  3. Discuss new oral anticoagulant treatment options for patients with AF and VTE
  4. Determine how to most effectively utilize the new oral anticoagulants in patients for the prevention of stroke in patients with AF and for the treatment of VTE
