Pharmacy Sterile Compounding: Improving Health and Safety – Canadian Council On Continuing Education In Pharmacy (CCCEP)

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

1. Identify the key elements of compounding and illustrate how principles within each element apply to compounding quality and safety
2. Describe the current NAPRA model standards for pharmacies that compound sterile non-hazardous medications
3. Describe the various potential risks associated with pharmacy compounding
4. Describe the major proposed requirements of the new USP Chapter <800> on hazardous drugs
5. Describe risk mitigation strategies to provide safe compounded medications while protecting healthcare workers handling hazardous drugs
