Learning Objective(s)

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the prevalence of chronic pain and neuropathic pain, and its effect on patient quality of life.
  2. Understand the need for additional or alternative pain management options for patients when traditional pain management is inadequate or contraindicated.
  3. Identify the appropriate patient who has not responded to conventional treatment and understand the process of prescribing medical cannabis.
  4. Acknowledge and understand the application of the College of Family Physician’s Preliminary Guidance Document and Health Canada’s directive for the recommendation and prescribing of medical cannabis.
