Course Description

In this session, Nancy shares practical “hacks” for catheter lubrication and sterile maintenance at home, bridging the gap between clinical procedures and daily reality. You will learn the mechanics of catheter insertion—how the tube travels through the urethra to the bladder—and the importance of hand coordination or caregiver assistance in the process. By understanding the different materials (latex, silicone, or polyurethane) and coatings available, individuals with spinal cord injuries can better manage their urinary health, prevent infections, and maintain independence in their self-care routines.
