Exploring approved treatments for wet age-related macular degeneration (wAMD) – The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists

After participating in this program, participants will be better able to:

1. Review the clinical features of wAMD and the mechanism of action of anti-VEGF therapies
2. Evaluate the clinical trials which form the evidence base for use of approved anti-VEGF therapies in wAMD
3. Recognise the clinical situations in which it is appropriate to initiate anti-VEGF therapy or to switch therapy and appreciate the advantages and disadvantages of the different available anti-VEGF therapies
4. Identify other ophthalmological diseases that may masquerade as wAMD
