Effectively treating all degrees of allergic rhinitis – The Australian Pharmacy Council

On completion of this program, pharmacists will be better able to:

1. Recognise the symptoms of allergic rhinitis in the community pharmacy setting, and assess its severity
2. Recall the impact on united airway diseases and classification of allergic rhinitis
3. Identify pharmacotherapeutic options for the treatment of allergic rhinitis based on classification, efficacy, side effects and specific needs (e.g. sleep), and guide patients in their treatment plan
4. Influence medication adherence and persistence through patient education
5. Recognise when to refer patients to their general practitioner
