A review of the diagnostic pathway and current treatment options in COPD – QI&CPD – Category 2

After completing this program, GPs will be better able to:

1. Apply knowledge of current Australian guidelines in the diagnosis and management of COPD
2. Confirm early and accurate diagnosis of COPD and asthma through increased use of spirometry
3. Identify symptomatic COPD patients and optimise the management of COPD in exacerbating and stable patients as the disease progresses
4. Describe the correct use and consequences of inappropriate use of inhaled corticosteroids in the management of COPD
