How long should you use topical antifungals? – The QUM approach – Certificate of Completion

After completing this learning module, pharmacists will be better able to:

1. Identify when a topical corticosteroid is warranted in addition to a topical antifungal in managing common fungal skin infections in children and adults
2. Review the role of combination products containing topical corticosteroid/antifungal medications, and advise patients on their appropriate use to maximise efficacy and safety
3. Recall current Australian guideline recommendations on the selection of combined topical antifungal and corticosteroid treatments indicated for common fungal skin infections
4. Counsel patients on the dose, application and duration of combined topical antifungal and corticosteroid creams in managing itch associated with fungal skin infections
