Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Recognize the role of albumin to creatinine ratio (ACR) and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in defining and assessing the different stages of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in type 2 diabetes
  2. Discuss which patients with kidney disease and diabetes are at highest risk of CKD progression
  3. Identify characteristics/risk factors in patients with CKD that influence diabetes management
  4. Discuss pharmacotherapy for patients with CKD and type 2 diabetes
  5. Describe sick day management principles
