Course Description

Ageing is associated with a decline in physical capability which can result in higher susceptibility to infectious diseases with serious outcomes. Influenza vaccination is still considered the cornerstone of influenza prevention and attenuation. Increasing vaccination coverage of older adults against seasonal influenza is important in promoting healthy ageing. Nurses play a pivotal role in raising awareness about the importance of immunisation by providing evidence-based information to patients.

This 1 hour accredited program summarises the changing landscape and differences between the enhanced influenza vaccines and the traditional vaccines available for younger persons. Featuring two cases studies and expert video questions, this program highlights the importance of educating and overcoming the barriers to influenza vaccination in older adults.
