Course Description

Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dieticians and diabetes educators are among the community of healthcare professionals that play a key role in providing early and continued access to obesity care for patients with this chronic condition. Engaging patients with obesity in educational conversations, shared-decision making around timely pharmacotherapy and behavioural changes, and consistent follow up results in improved quality of life and health benefits beyond the numbers on the scale. In this podcast, Dr. Shahebina Walji and Susie Jin address the value of an interdisciplinary team approach to managing the patient with obesity, the pharmacotherapy options available, and the importance of involving the patient in every step of their care.
