- Discuss important primary care treatment strategies and updates recently published in the Canadian Urological Association Guidelines for the management of BPH
- Appropriately assess a man presenting with LUTS
- Initiate and manage treatment of LUTS and BPH in accordance with current evidence-based guidelines
- Distinguish and define the roles of alpha-blocker, 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, combination therapy, anticholinergics, and new and emerging treatment options (PDE-5 inhibitors and Beta-3 agonists) for management of LUTS and BPH
- Recommend therapy following failure or dissatisfaction with initial therapy
- Recognize the role of the family physician and the specialist in the management of LUTS and BPH along the continuum of care
