Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Effectively utilize acetaminophen for mild to moderate pain relief in those suffering from hypertension or currently on low dose acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) 81 mg for cardioprotection.
- Identify appropriate use of over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers such as acetaminophen for specific patients (e.g. patients with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, osteoarthritis).
- Explore the efficacy and safety of acetaminophen and its role in providing mild to moderate pain relief for specific patients.
- Identify reasons for recommending an OTC pain reliever such as acetaminophen compared to other products, particularly in certain patient groups.
- Implement patient counselling regarding the appropriate use of an OTC pain reliever such as acetaminophen.
