  1. Discuss important primary care treatment strategies and updates recently published in the Canadian Urological Association Guidelines for the management of BPH
  2. Appropriately assess a man presenting with LUTS
  3. Initiate and manage treatment of LUTS and BPH in accordance with current evidence-based guidelines
  4. Distinguish and define the roles of alpha-blocker, 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors, combination therapy, anticholinergics, and new and emerging treatment options (PDE-5 inhibitors and Beta-3 agonists) for management of LUTS and BPH
  5. Recommend therapy following failure or dissatisfaction with initial therapy
  6. Recognize the role of the family physician and the specialist in the management of LUTS and BPH along the continuum of care
