Allergy and hay fever – a problem not to be sneezed at – QI&CPD – Category 2

After participating in this program, GPs will be better able to:

1. Describe symptoms of allergic rhinitis and identify patients at risk of atopic disease.
2. Recognise the impact of allergic rhinitis symptoms on patients, and the typical therapeutic journey the patient undertakes to manage these symptoms.
3. Differentiate the various therapies for allergy and hay fever, including over-the-counter and prescribed products for patients seeking immediate and ongoing relief from symptoms of allergy and hay fever.
4. Recommend appropriate lifestyle and medication choices to improve patient quality of life and safety.
