The Pharmacist’s Role in Managing Skin Conditions: A Focus on Adjunctive Care
Pharmacists play a key role in optimizing the management of dermatologic conditions by counselling on medications, promoting treatment adherence, mitigating side effects, and recommending appropriate adjunctive care.
The goal of this program is to increase pharmacists’ confidence in recommending strategies to alleviate the symptoms of common skin conditions (atopic dermatitis, acne, and sensitive skin), and to mitigate treatment side effects.

Upon completion of this continuing education program, participants will be better able to:
- Highlight the importance of adjunctive therapy in the management of skin conditions.
- Describe the pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis, acne and sensitive skin.
- Evaluate the impact of adjunctive therapy on atopic dermatitis, acne and sensitive skin.
- Select appropriate adjunctive therapy to significantly improve clinical signs and underlying symptoms in a number of dermatoses.
