Learning objectives
On completion of this program, participants will be better able to:
- Identify treatment options for managing common fungal skin infections in adults and children
- Review the leading causes of recurrent infections, treatment failure and patient non-adherence
- Recall current Australian guideline recommendations of first-line topical therapy where a rapid response is required for increased patient adherence
- Counsel patients on the importance of treatment adherence when using antifungals, particularly with regard to the dose, duration of use and number of daily applications
