Learning objectives
After completing this program, the GP will be better able to:
- Identify patients who are unable to attain glycaemic control with their current oral antihyperglycaemic therapy
- Review the clinical efficacy and tolerability of SGLT2 inhibitors
- Recognise the clinical role of SGLT2 inhibitors, based on current Australian treatment guidelines
- Ascertain which patients among their caseload would benefit from intensification of oral antihyperglycaemic therapy.
