  1. Describe the concept ‘time in range’ and its importance for managing glycemia in patients with diabetes; 
  2. Explain how time in range can complement A1C testing; 
  3. Discuss new technologies available to uncover hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia and glycemic variability.

  1. Recognize the prevalence and incidence of hypoglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes treated with insulin; 
  2. Explain how continuous glucose monitoring can uncover hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia and glycemic variability; 
  3. Discuss the reduction of hypoglycemia seen with the newer longer-acting basal insulins.
