Learning objectives
After completing this e-Audit, GPs will be better able to:
- Identify people who experience sub-optimal asthma control despite use of inhaled corticosteroids
- Effectively ask patients about their asthma symptoms and medication use, to objectively evaluate their level of asthma control
- Treat asthma patients with a low-dose steroid strategy, as per current Australian guidelines
- Identify patients for whom a maintenance and reliever regimen in one inhaler may improve control and/or adherence
- Initiate or adjust an Asthma Management Plan, to improve patient safety
