Injectable Therapy in the Vulnerable Older Adult (Latin America)
The COVID-19 pandemic has created significant challenges for people living with diabetes. Some patients have thrived with the increased emphasis of self-management, where other vulnerable populations have struggled with a decrease in support in maintaining glycemic control and optimizing management. This patient case will review the clinical considerations of a vulnerable older adult with type 2 diabetes who is currently using insulin.

Objectifs d'apprentissage
Upon successful completion of this continuing education module, the participant will be better able to:
- Determine the management of hyperglycemia in an older adult with type 2 diabetes currently using basal insulin
- Discuss the role of frailty on diabetes management
- Review the role of the diabetes management team and interprofessional collaboration to improve outcomes in older adults with type 2 diabetes
