After completing this program, participants will be better able to:
- Assess QOL of patients with moderate-to-severe CNCP, and critically ascertain the role of opioid analgesics in improving QOL scores
- Appreciate the need for a multimodal management approach for people with moderate-to-severe CNCP
- Counsel patients regarding available treatment options for moderate-to-severe CNCP, including the appropriate use of short-acting and long-acting opioid analgesics to improve patient safety
- Select and implement pain assessment and monitoring tools and apply universal precautions of pain medicine to assist in best practice strong analgesic (S8) prescribing
