Focus on age-related macular degeneration – Certificate of Completion

On completion of this program, participants will be better able to:

1. Review the risk factors for development of age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
2. Appreciate the variety of presenting complaints and visual findings that may indicate AMD onset
3. Recognise the different types of AMD and differentiate between early stages of AMD, atrophic (dry) AMD and neovascular (wet) AMD and diagnose Charles Bonnet Syndrome
4. Apply the appropriate referral pathway for different forms and stages of AMD, including identification of patients requiring urgent referral for suspected neovascular AMD and appropriate referral for general screening or mild vision changes
