All patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes require a comprehensive assessment to help guide the different management strategies to improve glycemic control and reduce the risk of diabetes complications.

This module will review some of the key considerations at the diagnosis of patients with type 2 diabetes and the important role of the primary care clinician in optimizing the delivery of care at this crucial stage of diabetes management.
