On completion of this program, participants will be better able to:

  1. Recognise that contraceptive non-adherence contributes to high rates of unintended pregnancies
  2. Assist patients to make contraceptive choices that best suit their individual needs and circumstances
  3. Review the recent evidence regarding the relative risk of venous thromboembolism across the major classes of oral contraceptive pills currently available
  4. Develop a consultation plan to clinically assess and follow-up patients requiring contraception
