Using NEW guidelines to address behavioural challenges in the management of asthma – QI&CPD – Category 2

After completing this learning module, GPs will be better able to:

1. Recall the practical aspects of the NAC 2014 Australian Asthma Handbook to help patients achieve symptom control and manage risk factors
2. Quickly assess uncontrolled asthma, identify possible causes of poor control and individualise asthma management plans with patients
3. Provide patients with asthma self-management techniques as part of the asthma management plan
4. Review features of different inhalers and technique that will maximise medication efficacy and patient safety.
