Upon successful completion of this continuing education lesson, participants will be able to:
- Review the impact of underlying cardiovascular disease on antihyperglycemic selection
- Examine new evidence that may impact antihyperglycemic selection since the November 2016 Diabetes Canada Update
- Discuss the significance of CVD primary prevention results with antihyperglycemics
- Review the selection of antihyperglycemic medication for a person without CVD who is not reaching glycemic targets with metformin monotherapy
