This session provides a practical roadmap for performing self-catheterization in public washrooms, where maintaining a sterile field is challenging. You will learn how to strategically position your wheelchair to allow for pelvic tilt, use a leg bag to prevent spills, and employ “clean-to-dirty” hygiene protocols. By scanning the environment for waste disposal and hand-washing stations before you begin, and utilizing techniques like using your fingertip to landmark the urethra, you can manage your bladder health confidently and independently while on the go.
