Historical examples of ethical transgressions created the imperative for modern research ethics principles. Several examples of such transgressions occurred in Canada. These cases are reviewed within this program, as well as recent examples that demonstrate the importance of understanding basic principles of research ethics. This course is based on the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) Research Bioethics Primer.
