This 6-module curriculum is a highly practical resource for clinicians at the frontline of one of the most challenging dermatological disorders. Led by Associate Professor Peter Foley from the Skin Health Institute, the program provides comprehensive training on psoriasis aetiology, presentation, assessment and treatment, with a focus on up to date clinical evidence and prescribing strategies for the currently available biologic therapies.

Objectif(s) d'apprentissage

After completing this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the aetiology, features, risk factors and triggers for the different types of psoriasis
  2. Evaluate the clinical severity of psoriasis and its effects on quality of life and psychosocial health
  3. Describe the available biologic therapies for psoriasis, including mechanisms of action and evidence for efficacy and safety
  4. Understand the risk of malignancy in the psoriatic patient and recommendations for managing these patients
  5. Select and switch biologic treatments for psoriasis based on patient factors, efficacy and safety, indications and guideline recommendations
  6. Understand the evidence for the safety of biologic therapy in pregnant and lactating women with psoriasis
  7. Understand the criteria and application processes for initial and continuing PBS subsidised biologic therapy for severe chronic plaque psoriasis
