After reviewing the presentation, participants will be able to: 

Video 1: Subclinical Hypothyroidism – To Treat or Not to Treat?

1. Recognize the causes of subclinical hypothyroid (SCH), including thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) reference range.

2. Identify three options for management of Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) – when to start treatment, continue with close follow-up or precede to further investigation.

3. Utilize a plan before initiating treatment and recognize when to order thyroid function in Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH).

Video 2: Water Balance and Salt Disorders

1. Recognize the clinical derangements of water balance, specifically diabetes insipidus (DIH) and the syndrome of inappropriate hormone secretion (SAIDH).

2. Differentiate between water hypertonic and hypotonic syndromes.

3. Identify the goals of treatment.

Video 3: Short Stature in Adolescents

1. Recognize the common causes of delayed growth in adolescents, including genetic or endocrine causes, and delayed puberty.

2. Identify the importance of linear growth velocity during the infantile phase, the first year of life, and adolescents.

3. Utilize available treatment options, including Growth hormone (GH) treatment in severe short stature.

Video 4: Central Precocious Puberty (CPP) – Clinical Approach and Update

1. Recognize the etiology of Central precocious puberty (CPP).

2. Identify current treatment options.

3. Utilize practice points, goals of treatment and targeted outcomes.

Video 5: Recent Advances in Biochemical and Molecular Analysis of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH) Due to 21-hydroxylase Deficiency (OHD)

1. Recognize the diagnostic options for Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia (CAH).

2. Identify current prenatal and postnatal diagnostic procedures as well as newborn screening and molecular genetic diagnosis.

3. Utilize the benefits of screening to provide detection of gene copy variations and chimerical genes in patients with 21-OHD.

Video 6: Management of Thyroid Nodular Disease

1. Recognize the importance of diagnosing thyroid nodular disease based on the rate of malignancy (e.g. incidence of malignancy in thyroid nodule disease is 5-15% internationally).

2. Identify courses of management of patients with a thyroid nodule.

3. Utilize current diagnostic techniques, treatment recommendations and the role of surgery.
