ESBL in UTI: An Evidence-Based Approach – MOC Section 1

Upon completion of this program, learners will:

1. Manage urinary infections with an awareness of the growing impact of the ESBL-producing organisms
2. Identify those cases in which antibiotic treatment is indicated and those in which antibiotic use should be avoided
3. Apply antibiotic stewardship in managing these infections, including the use of correct dose and duration of appropriately selected antibiotics, based on current Canadian guidelines
