Effective management of low back pain with a neuropathic component – QI&CPD – Category 2

This program will assist GPs to:

1. Identify patients with possible neuropathic component to their low back pain
2. Review current management of selected patients; appropriately implement the Douleur Neuropathique 4 (DN4) and painDETECT diagnostic tools
3. Improve pain management protocols by using non-pharmacological and pharmacological approaches as outlined in guidelines and according to current best practice
4. Address patient quality of life and tolerability of pharmacotherapies in the context of pain management
