Objectif(s) d'apprentissage

  1. Feel better equipped to discuss prostate health with patients and, in particular, the symptoms, diagnosis and management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
  2. Be reminded about the impact that BPH symptoms can have on affected patients’ quality of life (and/or their partners’ quality of life) and the potential for appropriate interventions to alleviate such symptoms
  3. Be reminded about the potentially serious complications of BPH and the most effective ways to help minimise a patient’s risk of such complications
  4. Have confidence in your ability to accurately diagnose BPH, assess its impact on affected patients and – in each case – recommend the most appropriate management strategy
  5. Know what factors to consider when deciding how to best manage a patient’s BPH
  6. Understand how key diagnostic findings (e.g. DRE findings, IPSS, PSA levels) may change in response to different medical interventions for BPH, including combination pharmacotherapy.
