Objectif(s) d'apprentissage
- Feel better equipped to discuss prostate health with patients and, in particular, the symptoms, diagnosis and management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)
- Be reminded about the impact that BPH symptoms can have on affected patients’ quality of life (and/or their partners’ quality of life) and the potential for appropriate interventions to alleviate such symptoms
- Be reminded about the potentially serious complications of BPH and the most effective ways to help minimise a patient’s risk of such complications
- Have confidence in your ability to accurately diagnose BPH, assess its impact on affected patients and – in each case – recommend the most appropriate management strategy
- Know what factors to consider when deciding how to best manage a patient’s BPH
- Understand how key diagnostic findings (e.g. DRE findings, IPSS, PSA levels) may change in response to different medical interventions for BPH, including combination pharmacotherapy.
