Clinical guidelines, including those of the National Heart Foundation of Australia and Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, recommend measuring NT-proBNP in patients with suspected acute or chronic HF, when the diagnosis is uncertain, in order to expedite either early diagnosis or early exclusion of HF.
