Routledge and Goncalves review risk adapted therapies in myeloma, with a particular focus on high-risk features in myelomas.\u202fParticular focus is given to papers presented covering 2 clinically-challenging patient sub-groups:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>transplant ineligible patients (MAIA study\u202f\u2013 triplet therapy)\u202f <\/li>\n<li>fit patients with ultra-high risk\u202ffeatures (OPTIMUM\/MUKnine\u202ftrial \u2013 5 first-line agents)\u202f\u202f <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The \u2018hot topic\u2019 at IMW 2021 was COVID-19 and myeloma.
