L’essai clinique montre pourquoi les boissons énergétiques sont mauvaises pour le cœur

Les boissons énergétiques sont populaires, surtout chez les adolescents et les jeunes adultes. Mais un essai clinique rapporte que les boissons énergétiques ont causé des perturbations aux rythmes cardiaques et à la pression artérielle des bénévoles.

Boissons énergétiques sont le deuxième complément alimentaire le plus populaire de choix pour les adolescents et les jeunes adultes aux États-Unis, selon le Centre national de la santé complémentaire et intégrative (NCCIH).

Emballés avec de la caféine et d’autres ingrédients, tels que le guarana, la taurine, le ginsenget les vitamines B, ces boissons promettent de stimuler la concentration, d’améliorer les performances physiques et de réduire la fatigue.

Un article récent de la Revue américaine de médecine préventive augmente la popularité des boissons énergétiques en chiffres.

Le pourcentage de jeunes de 12 à 19 ans consommant des boissons énergisantes aux États-Unis est passé de 0,2 en 2003 à 1,4 en 2016. La plus forte augmentation a été chez les jeunes adultes âgés de 20 à 39 ans, passant de 0,5 à 5,5 en cette période, tandis que le chiffre est passé de 0 à 1,2 chez les adultes de 40 à 59 ans, selon les auteurs de l’étude.

Pourtant, les preuves de montage dépeint les boissons énergétiques sous une lumière différente. «Consommer des boissons énergétiques soulève des préoccupations importantes en matière de sécurité», selon le NCCIH, avec deux fois plus de visites de service d’urgence liées aux boissons énergétiques enregistrées en 2011 que dans 2007.

Dans le plus grand essai clinique randomisé et contrôlé sur le sujet à ce jour, des chercheurs de l’Université du Pacifique à Stockton, CA, ainsi que des collaborateurs d’autres institutions, identifient comment la consommation de boisson énergétique affecte le cœur.

Audience and Appropriate Topics

The  Healthcare Leadership Lab welcomes submissions on all topics relevant to leaders in healthcare. Our topics include Leading in Healthcare, Leadership Lessons from COVID-19 and others. We prioritize stories that provide leadership advice to executives and managers in healthcare companies, offer actionable strategies for executing successful projects, and provide interesting angles on current healthcare topics. Submissions must be original work of the authors and unpublished.  When submitting, authors represent that they have included no material that is in violation of the rights of any other person or entity.

Parameters

Articles must be educational and non-promotional. If they mention the author’s company or any of the company’s products or services by name within the text, such mention should be very limited and used for reference only, not for promotion. (For example, an author might cite a survey conducted by his company but not describe his company’s product as a solution to a business problem.) Articles will be edited for clarity, style and brevity. The final headline is determined by the editor.

Length of Submissions

Guest articles for the MDBriefCase Healthcare Leadership Lab may run between 500 and 1000 words. 

Review

MDBriefCase reserves the right to accept or reject any submission  and the right to condition acceptance upon revision of material to conform to its criteria.   

No Compensation

There is no payment for contributed articles. However, MDBriefCase will give the author a byline. Authors are invited to link to the article on personal  websites, corporate websites and social media platforms.
