Which Flu Shot Do I Give? A Pharmacist’s Guide to 2019 Influenza Vaccines
Older adults (≥ 65 years) are at a high risk of significant morbidity or mortality if infected with influenza.1 Pharmacists are in an excellent position to ensure that this vulnerable patient population is adequately protected against this common infection. Some patients are unaware that pharmacists can provide influenza immunization and others are vaccine hesitant. By actively offering the influenza vaccine to all older adults, offering enhanced vaccines and addressing vaccine hesitancy, pharmacists and their team can help to improve influenza immunization rates.
This continuing education program is designed to provide pharmacists with the practical tools and knowledge to address common influenza immunization scenarios in older adults.
