Recent evidence regarding diabetes remission has increased the number of options for patients with type 2 diabetes. This module will review the evidence for diabetes remission, as well as guideline recommendations for initiating therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes. It will also discuss the important role of the clinicians in engaging their patients in treatment decisions and individualizing treatment according to patient values, preferences, and priorities.

- Discuss the evidence for remission of diabetes
