Learning objectives
On completion of this program, participants will be better able to:
- Describe key clinical features of multiple sclerosis (MS) including epidemiology, aetiology, clinical presentation and diagnosis
- Outline the range of treatment options for MS with a focus on oral therapies, including an appreciation of the advantages and disadvantages of different oral therapies
- Evaluate the clinical trials that form the evidence base for use of oral therapy, with an emphasis on the management of adverse events associated with these therapies
- Recognise the clinical situations in which it is appropriate to initiate or switch to oral therapy for MS
