  • Describe the epidemiological and pathophysiological relationship between heart failure, chronic kidney disease and type-2 diabetes (T2D)
  • Evaluate the risk or presence of cardiovascular and/or kidney disease when selecting treatment protocols for managing glycaemia in T2D and glucose-independent mechanisms of disease
  • Implement appropriate management strategies for patients with T2D according to current national and international management guidelines
  • Consider treatments for T2D which reduce CV and renal risk beyond glycaemic control
  • Consider long-term patient wellbeing and safety regarding primary prevention of cardiovascular disease when selecting diabetes medicines
