Probiotics - Topic 1: Leading the Way as a Preventive Strategy for Antibiotic and C. difficile Associated Diarrhea
Changes in the gut environment such as the introduction of antibiotics can cause changes in the composition of the intestinal microbiota that may cause effects like diarrhea. Certain strains of probiotic bacteria have shown their use in supplementing the intestinal microbiota in order to prevent AAD and CDAD.
