  1. appliquer ses connaissances de l’épidémiologie du cancer de la prostate (prévalence, incidence, mortalité) dans les conversations avec les patients et à la gestion de la santé;
  2. déterminer les facteurs de risque de cancer de la prostate et leur influence sur la prise de décisions concernant les tests de dépistage;
  3. faire la synthèse des recommandations actuelles (au Canada et aux États-Unis) concernant les tests de dépistage du cancer de la prostate et les appliquer aux égards suivants :
    • Qui doit passer un test?
    • Quand commencer les tests et à quelle fréquence les effectuer?
    • Comment effectuer les tests?
    • Comment interpréter les résultats et les communiquer aux patients?
    • Quels sont les facteurs qui influencent la fin des tests?
  4. mettre en œuvre une prise de décisions commune afin d’adapter le suivi clinique en fonction des résultats des tests.
