1. Recognize the diagnosis of Graves’ disease in children.

2. Identify current treatment options that include antithyroid drugs (ATD), radioactive iodine (iodine-131) and subtotal or near-total thyroidectomy and their associated challenges.

3. Utilize the goals of treatment that include efficient control of symptoms and restoration of euthyroidism, balanced by the least adverse effects and cost-effectiveness.

1. Identify factors that predict future growth response.

2. Recognize current GH treatments, including monitoring and follow-up.

3. Engage in management of GH deficiency.

Video 3: Insulin Resistance and Type 2 Diabetes in Children

1. Recognize the diagnostic factors of Type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents.

2. Utilize treatment options for youth-onset Type 2 diabetes, including the use of biguanides (metformin) as initial treatment and insulin.

3. Identify comorbidities and current recommendations for management.

Video 4: Osteoporosis: Approach & Management - Finding the Right Balance

1. Identify diagnostic factors of osteoporosis in children.

2. Utilize techniques for assessing bone mass.

3. Recognize prevention and treatment options (e.g. bisphosphonate therapy).

Video 5: Turner Syndrome: Towards Growth Optimizing Strategies

1. Recognize historical, epidemiological and genetic aspects of Turner Syndrome.

2. Utilize prenatal and post-natal diagnostic workup.

3. Identify key recommendations for initial screening, use of GH treatment and ongoing monitoring.
